The first thing I though of when I started reading that was Rod Flanders playing a video game that converted heathens. To his credit, the article mentions that and how to get to the game on The Simpsons site!
I am of the opinion that violent video games do not translate into a violent real life. However, after reading the above link about the new "Left Behind" Christian video game and the forces behind it (Including some people from my own back yard), I am not so sure. I can just see those suv's with the HARVEST bumperstickers and silhouettes of their families on the back stopping at a light and junior coming at me with a baseball bat asking if I want to be saved.
On the plus side, you can play the "other" side in this game, so maybe it's worth giving a shot when it hits the bargain bin. Going online against a group of fundies and killing them would be kinda nice.
For the record, my feelings about what the right wing Christians have done is summed up beautifully by Bill Moyers on the footer of my blog. Scroll down to read it.
I have found it helpful to do the stretching exercises my physical therapist recommends. Do some core strengthening exercises, such as the ones highlighted at The Mayo Clinic. By keeping your core strong, your back won't put itself in a position to cause that sciatica pain you are having.
